Message from Superintendent John VanWagoner

Dear TCAPS Staff & Families:

I invite you to watch this 4 minute informational video highlighting details of the capital bond proposal on the August 6 ballot.

This proposal projects no increase over the current debt millage rate of 3.1 mills. With a focus of Safe, Warm, and Dry, the bond proposal would include:

Safe

  • Secure entry vestibules at all TCAPS school buildings
  • Safety and security infrastructure upgrades
  • Bleacher replacements in six buildings
  • ADA upgrades to buildings, parking lots, playgrounds, and bleachers
  • Safety improvements at 13 locations including parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and curbs
  • Technology upgrades
  • Replacement of aged buses

Warm

  • Replacement of 26 boilers
  • Replacement of 260 heat pumps

Dry

  • Replacement of 800,000 square feet of aged roofing
  • Playground drainage upgrades at five buildings

Additional Projects

  • Renovation of Central Grade School
  • ​​​​​​​Facility improvements at all schools for instructional enhancements

  • Approximately 35,000 square feet of learning space enhancements for K-12 music and K-8 STEM programming
