      Monday, November 30, 2020 at 6:00 pm – Board Study Session

      Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 7:30 am – Board Finance and Operations Committee Meeting

      Meetings that will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 190 and live streamed at:

      REASON: COVID-19 Community Gathering Restrictions

      These meetings will be conducted remotely as identified below and will not be held at the Tompkins Boardman Administration Building.

      Please see the following message regarding the Board of Education and Board Committee meetings scheduled for November and December 2020, which will be conducted remotely:

       Under the Michigan Health and Human Services Epidemic Order MCL 333.2253, Board and Committee meetings scheduled between November 18th and December 8th 2020 will be held remotely. TCAPS Board members can be emailed directly at or individually at the email addresses listed below:

      The Board of Education Study Session and the Board Finance and Operations Committee Meeting will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 190 and will be streamed live at:

      For individuals who wish to give public comment at these meetings, please complete the Public Comment Request form prior to the start of the meeting you wish to speak.  After completing the online Public Comment Request form, you will be provided with a phone number and PIN to access the Google Meet.  If you do not receive this information, please contact the Board Recording Secretary, Stacey Hozak, at 231-933-1725. This form can also be found on the Board’s page of the district website at  You will need to call in and wait in a "virtual waiting room" where microphones will be muted by a moderator.  When it is your turn to speak, you will be identified by the last two (2) digits of your phone number and you will need to push *6 to unmute your microphone.

      During the public comment portion of the agenda the moderator will identify the caller by the last two (2) digits of their telephone number and ask if they would like to make a comment.   Please identify yourself by full name and address when you are called on. An individual may make public comment for up to three (3) minutes.  The Board will not respond to public comment.  We ask that concerns or comments directed toward individuals be made privately or in writing to the Superintendent, designee, or Board of Education President.

      Any person with a disability or who needs accommodation for participation in this meeting should contact Stacey Hozak, Board Recording Secretary at (231) 933-1725 (or in advance of the meeting to request assistance.

Episode 12: Live from the Opera House, It's Storytime! Balloons Over Broadway

A parade is a public procession, usually celebrating a special day or event. Each fall in New York City, the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade wows thousands of onlookers who wait for hours, lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the giant balloons as they make their way down the city streets.  In many ways, it is like a theater performance, just outside, moving through the streets. Parades are full of music and performances, puppetry, singing, dancing, and floats. And, behind it all is a creative mind that helps to build and plan the entire event, an artistic director like today’s guest reader, or in the case of today’s book, a puppeteer with the vision to create giant balloon creatures that today make up the foundation of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade event! Before young Tony, the hero of today’s book, grows up to become an accomplished puppeteer, he was busy solving problems, like chores, using his imagination and some science. For today’s activity, we are going to take a page out of the book and try our hand at making some do-it-yourself pulley’s, just like Tony. Then we will challenge you to see what household problem you can solve using pulleys.
