Young Fives Kindergarten Opportunity

Eastern All-Star Carnival—January 31st

Eastern Elementary School will host an “Eastern All-Star Carnival” on Friday, January 31, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the school (1600 Eastern Avenue). The annual all-school event is a fundraiser to benefit the annual fifth grade end-of-the-year field trip and the Eastern Elementary PTO.

Area Students Invited to Register for 2020 CogAT for the Talented & Gifted Program

TCAPS will administer the Cognitive Ability Test (CogAT) in February for all current 3rd grade students interested in the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program next school year.

    • Extended Day Schedule Change Request Period
      Date: Jan 27 - Jan 29
      Calendar: Eastern
      Families who need to make a change to their extended day schedule for the period beginning February 17th may submit their requests during the upcoming schedule change request period (Jan. 27-29). As a reminder, schedules are set in four-week increments (each day or week can be different). This four-week schedule will remain the same throughout the year unless a schedule change request is submitted and approved. If approved, this schedule would then remain the same throughout the remainder of the school year unless another schedule change request is submitted and approved. The schedule change request period will open Monday, January 27th at 8:00 a.m. and will close at midnight on Wednesday, January 29th Any approved change requests would not take effect until February 17th. Families who submitted a change request during the above timeframe will be notified by February 5th of whether their change request for the following four-week period can be accommodated. Any approved schedule changes will not begin until February 17th. To ensure licensing compliance, the following will be considered when determining whether a schedule change request can be accommodated: staff-to-student ratios, and physical space limitations. IMPORTANT: There is no guarantee of getting a spot back once dropped as it may be filled by another student.
