TCAPS Board of Education Approves Purchase Agreement for Boardman Administration Building
The TCAPS Board of Education approved with a 6-0 vote a purchase agreement for the Tompkins Boardman Administration Building for a purchase price of $750,000 from Boardman Building, LLC.
The property, located at 412 Webster Street, Traverse City, currently houses TCAPS Office of the Superintendent, business services, human resources, curriculum, communications, and the printing department.
Highlights of the agreement include a 90 day inspection period, a deed restriction on short term rentals, and possession at closing. The parties agree to apply jointly for a Grand Traverse County Brownfield planning grant, which may lead to additional funds for TCAPS. Plans shared by Boardman Building, LLC. include preserving much of the original building. The property will be designed as 13-15 residential units with three additional townhomes added in new construction.
Board of Education President Scott Newman-Bale highlighted how all offers were appreciated in this process and assisted the Board in reaching this final plan. “We value the work that went into all offers,” he stated. “We wish to also recognize their work.”
