Traverse City Area Public Schools and the State of Michigan require a state and FBI fingerprint background check be conducted for all new employees.

Scheduling an Appointment

Note: The Livescan Form and Michigan Waiver Agreement must be taken to your appointment and returned to the Human Resources department after fingerprinting.

If you are a current MI School employee and fingerprinted on/after January 1, 2008, please contact the Human Resources Department at your current school district to complete a fingerprint release form.

If requested, fingerprint results can be shared with other public school employers, subject to certain requirements. Please contact the Human Resources department at 231.933.1710 for details and release forms.

The following TCAPS human resources representatives have access to criminal justice information for the purpose of conducting criminal background checks on employees: Erika Lahti LASO, Kendal Glaze, Christa Hislop, Maire Lajko, Katie Herman, and Ashley Hart.
