On Thursday, September 26, 2019, TCAPS Montessori at Glenn Loomis will be hosting a “Stone Soup Celebration” for the school’s Primary and Lower Elementary students.
The TCAPS Music Department is selling discount cards for $10 again this year. The Music Department fundraiser nets more than $9 per card sold. There are several big deals on the card that will pay for the cost of the card after only 1 or 2 uses.
On Friday, September 20, 2019, TCAPS will be offering free shuttle service between TC West Middle School (3950 Silver Lake Rd.) and Thirlby Field (410 W. Thirteenth St.) for the TC Patriot Game.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, third, fourth and fifth grade students at Cherry Knoll Elementary School will receive a visit from acclaimed middle grade author Jack Cheng. The visit will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the school (1800 Three Mile Road N). The author’s visit is the prize for the top school participating in the Traverse Area District Library’s (TADL’s) 2019 Summer Reading Club titled “A Universe of Stories.”

On Friday, September 27, 2019, third grade students from Eastern Elementary School will be taking a field trip to Veronica Valley Park (4243 S. Lake Leelanau Dr.).
On Friday, September 20, 2019, active duty military, Veterans and first responders are invited to attend a special free pregame tailgate to honor their service as part of the 2019 TC Patriot Game. The tailgate will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Michigan State Police, located across the street from Thirlby Field (218 W. Fourteenth St.).
On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, TCAPS)will host a parent meeting for the annual TCAPS Global Service Trip at 6:30 p.m. in the West Senior High School library (5376 N. Long Lake Rd.).
TCAPS is pleased to announce that three students have been selected as Semifinalists and eleven were named Commended Students in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Eastern Elementary School’s Kindergarteners in the Community program provides a chance for students to learn about their community and about how they can become active participants and good citizens.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) will host “Industry Night Out,” in collaboration with Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District (TBAISD) at the Sabin Data Center (2075 Cass Rd.).
