Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce that a record number of students have qualified for round two of the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition (MMPC).
The Traverse City High School Student Council Rotary Interact Club will hold a “Coffee and Sweet Treats” drive-through on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
Downtown Traverse City will host its annual Shop Your Community Day on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
On Saturday, November 23, 2019, the Traverse City West Senior High School Titan Robotics teams are holding a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge (13360 S. West Bay Shore Dr.).

On Friday, November 1st the TC Central Trojans will take on Midland Dow High School Chargers in the first round of Division II playoffs, and in Division I, the TC West Senior High School Titans will compete against the Hudsonville Eagles on Saturday, November 2nd.
The Traverse City West Senior High School Band program will host the 4th Annual “Band Together” Food Pantry Drive on Wednesday, November 6th and Thursday, November 7 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The TCAPS Music Department is thankful for a $1,000 donation from the Happy Time Banjos, a California Banjo Band non-profit. The funds were used to purchase a set of Malmark Hand Chimes for use in the K-12 music classrooms.
Local artist and Long Lake and Silver Lake Elementary School teacher Adam VanHouten is holding a studio sale where a portion of the sales will benefit two local elementary schools.
On Friday, November 1st, Traverse Heights Elementary School students will be helping to plant trees near their school as part of a multi-agency collaboration effort. The tree planting will begin with a schoolwide assembly at 9:00 a.m.
The Traverse City West Senior High School National Honor Society, in partnership with Operation Gratitude, is seeking donations of your leftover Halloween candy to donate to Veterans, Active Duty Troops and First Responders.
Eastern, Silver Lake, and Long Lake Elementary Schools, in partnership with TC Touching Hearts, have joined together to collect personal care items and candy to send to deployed soldiers.
The TCAPS Board of Education is pleased to announce that nine candidates to fill an interim board seat will be interviewed at their next full board meeting on Monday, October 28, 2019. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Boardman Administration Center (412 Webster St.).
On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, TCAPS, the City of Traverse City and Grand Traverse County Judges, will host the Michigan Supreme Court as they hear oral argument in Maniaci v Diroff, Supreme Court Case No. 158005. View the proceedings via livestream at: https://livestream.com/tcapslive/Court.
