On April 24-25, 2019, the Traverse City West Senior High School Academic Boosters (WSH) will host a silent auction in the school’s Commons from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. during Student Led Conferences (5376 N. Long Lake Rd.).
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce that Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., will host an information session about investing in the new tax advantaged TCAPS municipal bonds from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Park Place Hotel’s Beacon Lounge (300 East State St.) on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
TCAPS will host the 3rd annual TCAPS K-12 Arts Gala beginning with an opening night reception on April 10, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the TCAPS Boardman Administration Building (412 Webster St.).
Traverse City Central High School will host the FIM District FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Competition, April 4-6, 2019 (1150 Milliken Dr.).
The TCAPS Board of Education has made a survey available to gather feedback from the community about what qualities matter most in our next district leader. The survey will be posted until April 30th and participation is anonymous. It can be accessed at: www.tcaps.net/superintendentsearch.
Traverse City Central High School is hosting a week of activities and fundraisers to raise awareness about Autism. Autism World Day is Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
TCAPS students participated in the District 3 History Day competition on Saturday, March 16, 2019. The following students qualified to move on to the State Level Michigan History Day Competition to be held on April 27, 2019, at Bay City Central High School.

TCAPS is pleased to announce the opportunity for families to enroll in the Young Fives Kindergarten program at Eastern Elementary School and Silver Lake Elementary School for the 2019-20 school year.
On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, more than 40 Traverse City Central High School student vocalists will embark on a trip to Rome, Florence, and Venice, Italy.
Four vocal students from Traverse City Central High School, Annabelle Arends, Morgan Davis, Lauren Fleming, and Emlin Munch, were named finalists in the 25th Annual Italian Songs and Arias Vocal Competition.
Online registration will open for TCAPS’ Summer Explorers Club on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Explorers Clubs are designed for children, ages 3-12, and will be available at four locations (Cherry Knoll, Eastern, TCAPS Montessori, and Westwoods). Each week will feature different theme-based activities, field trips and/or special guests.
On Saturday, April 27, 2019, the Traverse City Central High School Athletic Boosters will host their annual fundraiser, this year called the Trojan “Nash Bash.” The event will feature the sights and sounds of Nashville and will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the City Opera House (1669 E Front St.).
The TCAPS Board of Education will host “Office Hours” (formerly known as Coffee Conversations) on March 21, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at Horizon Books (243 E. Front Street). The new listening session format is intended to offer an opportunity for community members to have one-on-one conversations with board members in an informal setting.
