Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) received a letter on October 16, 2018, via the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District (TBAISD), indicating that the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) directed TBAISD to deduct 102 full time equivalent (FTE) from TCAPS' prior year student count.
Due to construction impacting the parking lot and area surrounding the Boardman Administration Building, the next Board of Education meeting, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on October 22, 2018, will be held at the Sabin Data Center in the Training Lab (2075 Cass Rd.).
On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Traverse City Central High School’s Eurochorale will host “Meals for Musicians” at Mt. Holiday (3100 Holiday Rd.).
The 27th annual East Extravaganza Craft Show will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at East Middle School (1776 Three Mile Rd. N.).

On Friday, October 19, 2018, Willow Hill Elementary School (1250 Hill Street) will host “Super Heroes for Willow Hill,” the largest classroom fundraiser for the 2018-19 school year.
On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the Traverse City West Senior High School Robotics teams are holding a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to raise money for the 2019 VEX and FIRST Robotics teams at the Masonic Lodge (13360 S. West Bay Shore Dr.).
On Saturday, October 20, 2018, the Traverse City West Middle School Choirs, led by teacher Emerick Dee, will host the 3rd Annual Choir Code Celebration.
