Revised Time Announced: TCAPS Board of Education Meeting Scheduled for Nov. 18th at 6:00 p.m.

Special meeting originally scheduled for 8 p.m. Nov. 16th cancelled due to server issues 

 

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is announcing that the special meeting of the Board of Education originally scheduled for Monday, November 16th, which has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 18, 2020, will be held at the revised time of 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually.

All TCAPS Schools to Move to Remote Learning Nov. 18th-Dec. 8th

MDHHS Epidemic Order and rising cases of COVID-19 in the community lead to decision to switch to remote learning, remote learning day called for Montessori Nov. 16th to allow for contact tracing 

 

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is announcing that in light of the new Epidemic Order (MCL 333.2253) issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) tonight, Sunday November 15, 2020, the rising cases of COVID-19 in the community, and ongoing staffing challenges, all TCAPS schools K-12 will begin remote learning starting Wednesday, November 18, 2020, and continue with remote instruction through December 8, 2020.

Remote Learning Days to Continue Nov. 16th-20th for TCAPS Middle and High School Students

Elementary schools to remain open for face-to-face learning 

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is announcing that remote learning will continue for middle school and high school students from Monday, November 16, 2020, through Friday, November 20, 2020. Additional information about how middle and high school students can continue to access their learning remotely will be provided by their school and/or teachers. Meals will be available daily for pick-up at each school building during the time designated as lunch on the remote schedule.

Help Your School - Submit Your Education Benefit Form Today

Even though free, healthy, and nutritious breakfasts and lunches are available to all students ages 18 and under this school year, Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) families are still asked to submit an education benefit form. This information is important because it is used to determine the distribution of other educational funding that supports TCAPS students.

TCAPS Superintendent, Dr. John VanWagoner, will begin holding monthly virtual and in-person office hours, which are open to the community.
