Daily Announcements - Oct. 1

Want ice cream? Come check out Traverse City Central's FIRST Robotics team, the Raptors, at an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, October 2 at 6 pm. We will meet in room F206 next to Mr. Baran's room and discuss the upcoming season. No experience necessary. See Mr. Failor in C182 with questions.

Hillsdale College will be here TOMORROW from 9-10a to meet with interested students in the Cafe. Please sign up in the LMC to attend.
The CHS Gay-Straight Alliance will have its first meeting of the school year on October 2nd during 1st and 2nd lunches in Room C135. All are welcome!
HOCO Tickets are being sold during both lunches in the cafeteria and before and after school by the big gym. Prices for both the tickets and t-shirts are $10. As a reminder to students, homecoming tickets are strictly presale this year and will NOT be sold at the door. If you don't have a ticket you will not be allowed into the homecoming dance. Doors close at 9pm.
If you are planning to bring one pre-approved guest to HOCO that is not a CHS student, you must have them registered by Wednesday, October 2nd. This is a Central High School student event, not a public or community-wide event. Scan a QR in any office or visit the link in your morning email to get your guest registered TODAY!
HOCO Spirit Week: Tomorrow, Wednesday is Dress like you're on a Zoom call!
Homecoming Royalty Vote: Vote for your representation for Homecoming royalty! Top two individuals will be crowned as Homecoming court on Friday at the Homecoming football game! Voting will end on Wednesday, 10/2 at 4pm. To vote see the link in the morning email!
Community Tailgate and Homecoming Parade will take place in Rotary square on Friday from 4pm-6pm downtown. The parade will kick off at 6pm and will end at Thirlby field! Come on out and join the fun!
CASC (pronunciation: CASK) and Model UN meeting will be Thursday morning, October 3, before school in Ms. Lynch's room. Short meeting to confirm your registration for CASC, and get a workbook if you are going to MAMUN in March. Please look at google classroom for more information.
Central High School's Bass Fishing Club will be meeting after school today, Tuesday, in Mr. MacNeil's room. Contact Austin VanStratt with any questions.
Students: Are you interested in studying abroad? Another TCAPS Global Service trip to Mexico is being planned for next June. Students will study Spanish, do volunteer work, participate in an exchange with students in Leon, and will take a deep dive into Mexican culture. Our trip meeting will be on Oct. 16 at 6:30 in the WSH LMC. Email Mrs. Hansen at WSH with questions.
There will be an NHS Meeting on Wednesday, October 2nd. Please arrive in the auditorium by 7:40am for attendance. Meeting will start at 7:45!

Daily Announcements - May 20

Auditions for our Fall Musical, 'Urinetown', are coming up on June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th after school and are open to all CHS students! Consider being a part of this hysterical, sarcastic musical that has great music and many underlying themes that keep the audience interested and laughing. At 3:30 p.m. on June 2nd, all students auditioning will be handed an audition packet (nothing needs to be prepared ahead of time), learning the music and monologue together. All students auditioning will then sign up for a solo audition (song excerpt and monologue) for Tuesday, June 3rd, then Call-backs are Wednesday, June 4th via sign-up genius. Stay tuned for those audition links.

Yearbooks are IN! Pick up your book in the big gym TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 20th, during lunch. A list of students who purchased books is located in the cafeteria and outside of each wing office. Those who didn't make a purchase but still want a book should bring $70 (cash or check) to the big gym on Tuesday. After picking up your book, hit the bake sale for a sweet treat! Bring your money and IDs!

Daily Announcements - May 15

Prom Tickets are being sold before school, after school, and during both lunches for $30. The dance is this Saturday, May 17th at the Grand Traverse Resort, starting at 8pm, and ending at 11pm. Doors close at 9pm with no re-entry. Freshmen are NOT allowed at the dance. You must have your ID to enter and no backpacks will be allowed in.

Catch some of your fellow Trojan students in Spotlight! This fun-filled show will be a mash-up of Broadway show tunes presented by Central students of all grades. The production will be at 7:00pm this Friday, May 16th in the CHS Auditorium. Come support your friends and peers at this celebration of musical theater!
