Traverse City Central High School’s Choral-Aires will be performing singing valentines February 14-16, 2019. Singing valentines include: a performance of two a cappella songs, a rose with a vase, chocolate, and a card with a personal greeting.
Food assistance resources are available for families who may have been impacted by the recent government shutdown, participate in the SNAP-Ed program, have experienced a change in income or are living on a tight budget.
TCAPS’ secondary schools will host parent/student orientation meetings to share information about courses and electives available next school year.
TC Central High School’s Girls’ Basketball Team will be hosting its annual “Pink Out” game on Friday, February 1, 2019, during its game against TC West Senior High School.
TCAPS is pleased to announce that nine individual students have been named to all-state bands and choirs, three choirs have been selected to perform, and three educators will present as part of the 2019 Michigan Music Conference (MMC). In addition, Superintendent Paul Soma has been named the 2019 Michigan Music Education Association (MMEA) Administrator of the Year.
Students and their chaperones from Koka, Shiga, Japan are currently visiting Traverse City as part of a student exchange program between the two sister cities.
On Saturday, February 2, 2019, the Traverse City West Senior High School Titan Bowling Team will host their 12th annual fundraiser event from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Lucky Jack’s (1705 South Garfield Ave.).
Each year the Traverse City Music Boosters provide a number of $350 scholarships to TCAPS Music students in grades 6 – 11. Students must have submitted their online application by Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking volunteers to serve on the Sex Education Advisory Committee. The advisory committee meets three to five times per year to review sex education curriculum and materials, in accordance with Public Act 226 and local bylaws. Applications are due before January 18, 2019.
