This school year has been an amazing journey. Your child has grown academically and socially along with the Long Lake family! We hope your family has had the opportunity to reflect upon the growth made this year. Stay tuned for an update of the wrap up events this week.
SAVE THE DATE: Open House & Meet the Teacher for next school year will be on Thursday, August 31st. Please save the date to join us!
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: Wednesday is a half day and our Last Day of School. School dismisses at 12:08 PM. We will be bidding farewell to our 5th graders with a Clap out Parade through the school at 12:00. Join us outside the front entrance if you’re able!
REPORT CARDS: Report cards will be also be coming home on the last day of school in backpacks. Please check to make sure you don’t have any library books at home or outstanding lunch charges. Report cards for those students will be in the office and sent home as soon as fees are paid.
Pit Spitter Reading Incentive: Families should have received their Pit Spitters tickets via email. If you have not received them, it probably means that someone at Pit Spitters mistyped the email address. If you’re missing the email, contact Anne Yambor yamboran@tcaps.net in our library and she can work to track them down for you.
SPRING HAPPY FEET: During the spring session of Happy Feet, over 230 cards were completed by the students. Each card counts five miles traveled by each student, which ends up being about a distance 1,155+ miles accumulatively. This is about the distance from Traverse City to New Orleans We can’t thank the volunteers enough for helping this run successfully! Thank you to PTO for funding the foot tokens. Also a big thank you goes to Megan Piedmonte and Charisse Williamson for coordinating this program. Together we all can achieve greatness!
Picnic Lunch June 6th: Bring a towel or beach blanket and join us for a Picnic Lunch this Tuesday, June 6th! Lunch times and information about lunch can be found on the order form here. You can bring your own lunch or purchase one from our cafeteria! if you are joining and getting a cafeteria lunch, please bring Cash or Check (made to TCAPS) for the exact amount of $5.15. We will be grilling Louie’s hot dogs and celebrating the end of the school year! We hope you can come!

PTO Meeting: We have a PTO Meeting this Thursday, June 8th at 6:30 PM in the library. Our PTO team will be planning and budgeting items for next school year. Come join us to share thoughts on purchases to support our school next year!
ALL SCHOOL FIELD TRIP: Our field trip is pm WEDNESDAY! Please dress your child in comfortable clothing, tennis/gym shoes, dress for the weather by wearing layers, and bring a sack lunch/water. Please note that all volunteers who attend our trip need to have volunteer clearance through TCAPS. You can do that by clicking this link: Volunteer Application Form It it’s not an immediate process and needs to be done ahead of Wednesday if you are joining! We are going to have such a blast on this trip! We hope you can join us!
