LL News: 10.20.24 Conference Sign Ups, Panther Pumpkin Project & Monster Mash

FALL PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: Our Fall 2024 Parent Teacher Conferences will be on November 7th (Mostly Virtual), November 12th (In Person) and November 14th (Parent Choice of Virtual or In Person). Please use SignUpGenius to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher. You can sign up for conference times here. Parents can request any format (virtual or in person) on any of the evenings. We ask that dual households schedule one conference for their child. This helps everyone to be on the same page to support the student’s learning, it also allows the teacher to have enough time slots for all of the students in their class. . Sign up times for specials teachers are also available. Mrs. Wiliford (MUSIC) has an alternative conference date for LL on November 18th.  If interested in signing up for a music conference, click here and select Nov. 18th on the calendar. Resource Room and Intervention Teachers will join student's homeroom teacher times. If you experience problems signing up, feel free to contact our office at 231-933-7800 or your child's teacher.

RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES IN NEED: If your family is in need of boots for your students or a weekly nonperishable food bag to come home in backpacks, please reach out to our front office or email burwinkeka@tcaps.net. Also TCAPS is hosting a Pop-Up Shop on October 24-25!  All items are 100% free and will include clothing, school supplies, winter wear and more!  Please contact kubeshca@tcaps.net or 231-933-1789 to make an appointment!

Ski Club 2025 is upon us! Join us on Thursdays beginning in January. The program includes a weekly lesson (at least 4) and weekly lift, with optional rental and Sunday add on. In addition, there is also open skiing in March (rental not included). Click here for more info/links to forms.

TOYS AT SCHOOL: We’re noticing more and more students bringing toys and Pokemon cards to school.  This can become a problem because items end up getting broken or a precious card unintentionally traded.  Please help us out by keeping personal items at home.  Thanks for your support!

LL HALLOWEEN PARADE October 31st: Long Lake will be hosting a Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31st at 9:20 a.m. at our outdoor track.  Students should come to school wearing their costumes and bring a change of clothes. Parents can join the parade by walking around the side of the building and stand on the inside of the track. Our parade will move inside if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Please see the flyer below for information about how to participate and costumes that day.  Flyer Here

VETERAN ASSEMBLY: We will reveal how much is collected during our Veterans Assembly (in honor of Veterans Day) on November 8th @ 9:30 AM. Know a Veteran who would be interested in joining us for this honorary celebration?  Please invite anyone who may be interested!

PANTHER PRIDE: This year, our staff give out Paw Tickets to students who demonstrate our Lifelong Guidelines: Trustworthy, Truthful, Active Listening, Personal Best, Kind Words and Actions.  We are proud to recognize Emersyn, Lydia, Grayson, Hailey, Charlotte, Kalayah, and Chace who had tickets that scored BINGO on our board!  Paw tickets are randomly selected each week to add to a BINGO board in our office.   Whenever we form a full line on our bingo board, the students in that row receive special recognition! Congratulations to all students who have earned Tickets these last few weeks!
