Hello Panther Families!
The school year is fast approaching and I am super excited to welcome everyone back soon! We’ve been hard at work getting the campus ready!
OPEN HOUSE: Please save the date for our school-wide Open House on August 29th! This is a welcome back to school celebration for our entire school community. We will share teacher assignment information, have free giveaways and much more! Preschool and Kindergarten families will gather between 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 1st through 5th grade are welcome between 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
SUPPLY LISTS Each of our teaching teams created a list of school supplies to support your child’s learning this year. You can find the supply lists here. Thanks in advance for your generosity!
LUNCH APPLICATION: We have heard that breakfast and lunch will be free to all students this school year once again thanks to funding from the state of Michigan! However, we also ask all families to submit a free and reduced meal application because this helps us receive grant funding to hire additional tutors, aides, and intervention resources for our school. The quickest and easiest way to submit an application is on the TCAPS website.To complete it online, click here: http://traversecity.familyportal.cloud/ Again, we kindly ask that ALL families fill out the form. Even if you are not eligible for free or reduced meals, that information helps us secure grants and other staffing for our school. You can also pick up a paper form from our school front office and turn it in before the start of the school year. Thank you in advance!

Please note our summer hours: Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00 August 1st- August 15th. Our regular daily hours of 9:00-4:00 will resume on Monday, August 19th. STAFF APPRECIATION: This week we get to shower our staff with thanks for ALL the time and efforts they put into educating our students! ALL SCHOOL FIELD TRIP: Our field trip to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is on May 14th. Permission slips went home last week. Please see the permission slip and chaperone information here. If interested in joining the trip, please read the Volunteer Standards of Conduct, complete the online volunteer form here and return the interest form to your child’s teacher.
Long Lake Family Picnic May 29th: Bring your whole family and join us to celebrate the end of the school year! Student lunches will be ordered through the classroom. Family members can either bring your own picnic lunch or order a school lunch online here. If you are bringing your own lunch, you do not need to complete this form or RSVP. However, if you would like to order lunch from the school cafeteria for family members who will be attending, please complete the form below. Lunch orders and payment must be turned into the office by Friday May 22nd. Students will have lunch first and then travel to the playground for recess. Families are welcome to join for recess as well!

LONG LAKE SPRING BOOKFAIR NEXT WEEK: April 29th-May 2nd! Thank you for choosing to support Long Lake. You can shop online or in person during the bookfair hours. SPIRIT WEEK: We’re excited to celebrate a Spirit Week at Long Lake this week! ! This is in connection with a Mix it Up Lunch Day on Wednesday where students get to mix up where they sit in the cafeteria and meet new friends!
HALF DAY FOR STUDENTS THIS FRIDAY: This coming Friday, April 18th is a half day for students. Long Lake students dismiss at 12:12 p.m.
SPRING PICTURE DAY: Spring picture day is Friday, April 18th. Only students with pre-paid online orders or payment in hand will have their pictures taken. Online orders MUST be placed by 10:00 a.m. on picture day (the online site will close after that time). If you would like your student's picture taken, please place an online order on or before April 18th at 10:00 a.m. The website for placing orders is mylifetouch.com and the Picture Day ID is EVT3NNMGW.
SCHOOL YEARBOOKS: Yearbooks are available to purchase online and the deadline to order is April 21, 2025. To order, visit the following website: www.ybpay.com ID Code: 15170525. The cost is $12 per yearbook. We do have funds available to help families in need. If your family would benefit from a scholarship for a yearbook, please complete this form or contact the school office.
