News on the Knoll
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, third, fourth and fifth grade students at Cherry Knoll Elementary School will receive a visit from acclaimed middle grade author Jack Cheng. The visit will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the school (1800 Three Mile Road N). The author’s visit is the prize for the top school participating in the Traverse Area District Library’s (TADL’s) 2019 Summer Reading Club titled “A Universe of Stories.”

On Friday, September 20, 2019, active duty military, Veterans and first responders are invited to attend a special free pregame tailgate to honor their service as part of the 2019 TC Patriot Game. The tailgate will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Michigan State Police, located across the street from Thirlby Field (218 W. Fourteenth St.).
Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking volunteers to serve on the Sex Education Advisory Committee. Applications are due before September 20, 2019.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, TCAPS, the City of Traverse City and Grand Traverse County Judges, will host the Michigan Supreme Court as they hear oral argument in Maniaci v Diroff, Supreme Court Case No. 158005.
On Saturday, September 7, 2019, the Traverse City Music Boosters will host their annual used instrument sale. The sale will be held at Traverse City West Middle School Little Theater (3950 Silver Lake Rd.).
Please note today, August 19th, is the last date to register for extended day child care services in order to be considered for placement for the first week of school (Sept. 3-6). Students must be registered with all forms completed no later than 11:59 p.m. tonight. This deadline is necessary to ensure appropriate staffing.
Online registration for TCAPS’ extended day child care is going on now. To be guaranteed placement and be able to utilize extended day services for the first week of school (Sept. 3-6, 2019), students must be registered with all forms completed no later than August 19, 2019.
