TCAPS Honors 2021 Retirees with Video Ceremony

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce that it is celebrating its 2021 retirees with a special video ceremony recognizing the impact these 45 employees have had on the children of the Traverse City area.

Free Summer Meal Distribution - In-Person Pickup & Delivery Options

TCAPS is pleased to announce the continuation of its free bulk meal distribution service through the summer months. No cost meals are available to all children 18 or younger (or adults with disabilities under 26). The district will operate two meal pickup distribution sites as well as a meal delivery service option for families who are unable to utilize the in-person pickup option.

TCAPS Summer Programs Enrollment Open

TCAPS offers many exciting summer learning and camp opportunities for children of all ages including Summer Explorers Clubs, Summer Academy, and multiple athletic and music camps. 2020-2021 K-12 District Art Show Now on Display Online

TCAPS'  2020/2021 District Art Show is up and ready to view online at: External Linktcapsk12artshow.weebly.com. Individual classroom galleries are on display and the artworks featured on the home page of the show’s website were chosen by teachers as exemplary representations of creative thought and expression and are considered to be “Best in Show.”

GTCHD Announces Reduced Quarantine Time for COVID-19 Close Contacts

On Friday, May 7, 2021, the Grand Traverse County Health Department (GTCHD) announced a reduction to the required quarantine period from 14 days to 10 days for individuals who have been identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 positive case and are asymptomatic.

TCAPS Statement Regarding Student Conduct on Social Media

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is aware of a very serious and inappropriate incident related to high school student behavior on social media. A snapchat termed “slave trade” similar to those being shared in other states have been duplicated in the region. TCAPS students appropriately reported the snapchat to school officials who immediately began an investigation into the matter. The school district continues to thoroughly follow its investigative and disciplinary procedures and responsibilities, including any requirements under Board policy and Title IX.
