Earlier this morning, Google experienced a disruption to its services, which impacted Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Calendar, etc. While service has been restored, the Google status page indicates that some users may continue to experience sporadic issues. In the event that Google should experience any additional service distruptions, if you have a student in high school or who is enrolled in UpNorth Virtual Live, please periodically check Google services again to see if services have been restored. High schools to continue remote learning
TCAPS is announcing that beginning on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, TCAPS middle school students will return to face-to-face learning. Middle school students had previously been learning remotely through December 8, 2020, due to staffing issues. At this time, the school district has the staff available to reopen to face-to-face learning for students in grades 6-8.
TCAPS Superintendent, Dr. John VanWagoner, will host his next monthly virtual "Coffee Talk" office hours on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 8:30 a.m.
Intermittent internet outages may be experienced during evening maintenance windows
Middle and high school students to resume in-person learning Dec. 9th
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) was informed by the Grand Traverse County Health Department on November 22, 2020, of two positive school-associated cases of COVID-19, one at Silver Lake Elementary School, and a case related to Eastern Elementary School, Long Lake Elementary School, and Silver Lake Elementary School. The Health Department is investigating each case and will directly notify any close contacts.
