February 14th Student Count Day
The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) has awarded Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) its Certificate of Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting for the 13th consecutive year for its 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
An anonymous donor has provided $3,000 to Traverse City High School to allow the school to provide free breakfast and lunch to all of its students.
TC West Middle School 8th Grade Social Studies students invite the public to view their National History Day Projects on February 16, 2018 (3950 Silver Lake Rd.).
On Saturday, February 10, 2018, a mini documentary about the opioid crisis, which was created by students in East Middle School’s digital media class, will be shown between periods at the Grizzel Game Hockey Awareness Fundraiser that begins at 7:00 p.m. at Centre Ice Arena (1600 Chartwell Dr.).
TCAPS will host information sessions about the district’s enhanced science, math and technology program, called SCI-MA-TECH (SMT), on February 12, 2018, at Central High School, and February 13, 2018, at West Senior High School.
Student count day will be held on February 14, 2018.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, and Wednesday, February 14, 2018, the TC Central High School Choral-Aires will be delivering memorable moments with sweet song as they perform “singing valentines.”
On Friday, February 9, 2018, the Traverse City West Senior High School Girls’ Golf Team will be honored with a ring ceremony celebrating their 2017 State Championship title.
On Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., TCAPS' Students in Transition Empowerment Program (STEP) and Trattoria Stella invite you to the Polenta + Paper, Pens, and Pencils fundraiser.
On Saturday, February 10, 2018, Traverse City Central High School’s Trojan Men’s Basketball program will host Bounce House Night from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium (1150 Milliken Dr.).
On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, Traverse Heights Elementary School will host a community presentation of the OK2SAY/Cyber Safety Initiative program offered by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
TCAPS elementary schools will host kindergarten enrollment meetings beginning in February for families interested in learning more about TCAPS’ kindergarten programs and the enrollment process.
The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org that offers a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.
Traverse City West Senior High School (WSH) Titan Robotics team 3767X and Team 3767A have qualified for the Michigan VEX Robotics State High School Championship at Michigan State University on February 25, 2018.
