Congratulations to the Model UN team that competed in the Canadian American Security Councils & Summit in Lansing. Highest Honors was awarded to Adam Raneri (Slovenia) and Evi Burtt (France) for their work in the European Union. Second Honors was awarded to Zoe Walker (Italy) and Sofia Hoag (Venezuela) for their work in the European Union and Organization of American States, respectively.

🌟 CMU HONORS BAND 🎼
Three West students will perform with the Central Michigan University Honors Band this weekend:

• Isabelle Gelles – Senior
• Lucian Hentschel – Senior
• Porter Lawens – Sophomore

This prestigious ensemble brings together top musicians from across Michigan and performed on Sunday, November 16.

🌟 MSBOA ALL-STATE HONORS
Congratulations to our outstanding West Band musicians selected to the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association 2026 All-State Ensembles:

• Junior – Eric Haag
• Sophomore – Porter Lawens
• Sophomore – Rhys Miller
• Freshman – Evan Tamlyn

These students were selected from thousands of applicants through a blind audition process and will rehearse and perform in January at the 21st Annual Michigan Music Conference under the direction of notable guest conductors.

This year is especially exciting—ALL FOUR selected high school students are percussionists. Only twelve percussionists statewide earned a spot, and one-third are from West. This achievement speaks to the dedication, talent, and exceptional culture within our percussion program.

Today, 26 of our WSH Students got their CPR certification. Thank you to Northwest Ed for coming in to train our students.

Spanish NHS students will be selling woven bracelets and bags made by indigenous people in Latin America during all three lunches this week. The proceeds raised will be returned to the community where the bracelets/bags were made to support education, health, housing, and more. These make great stocking stuffers/friendship bracelets for friends and family at the holiday season. Bracelets are $5, bags $15. See Mrs. Hansen in A205 with questions.
