Congratulations to Avery Bush (Volleyball), one of our Trojan Athletes of the Week!
Coach Kama Mastromonaco says that "Avery truly focuses at practices so she can play her best at games - and almost always ends up hitting her targets because of her level of focus. She sees constructive criticism as an opportunity to excel on the court. In the past few weeks, Avery has really stepped up and improved in multiple areas on the court. Her hustle, consistent passes, high-quality serves, and communication all contribute to her team's success so far this season. Additionally, Avery knows the importance of being supportive and cheering on her teammates; the Miss Congeniality award goes to her!"

A Hold action is used when hallways need to stay clear, such as during a medical event or maintenance cleanup. Classroom instruction continues as usual behind locked doors, while hallways remain clear until the Hold is lifted.

Coach Tina Preston highlights Ailah's commitment to giving her very best and consistently giving 110% at every practice. Ailah is coachable, receptive to feedback, and always willing to learn, grow, and improve. When given constructive criticism, she takes it positively and uses it as an opportunity to become a stronger athlete and teammate. What truly sets Ailah apart is the heart she brings to the team.
On picture day, before even taking care of herself, Ailah was helping her teammates with their hair and making sure everyone else was ready. That simple moment demonstrated the kind of teammate she is—selfless, caring, supportive, and always willing to put others first. Ailah has truly demonstrated Trojan Spirit through her work ethic, attitude, sportsmanship, and commitment to her teammates. This week, TCAPS is launching a 6-week safety awareness campaign! 🏫 Protecting our students and staff begins with clear communication. That’s why we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), the official response framework recognized by the State of Michigan Office of School Safety.

🏈 TROJAN 8TH GRADE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 🏈
Congratulations to Tucker Fons (Football), our 8th Grade Trojan Athlete of the Week!
Tucker is a recent transfer to Traverse City East Middle School from Mattawan, Michigan.
Tucker made an immediate impression that he was a solid football player. He picked up the offensive schemes and hand signals quickly along with showing strong instincts on defense.
In the first game vs Gaylord, the Trojans unfortunately had two key players out due to illness. Tucker wasn't 100% confident he was ready to take on starting roles on both sides of the ball. Not only was he ready, he excelled in both positions of starting middle linebacker and H-Back. He even sustained a wrist injury during the game. He got it taped and immediately wanted to go back in.
Tucker made many key blocks on offense to protect the quarterback and open up holes for the running backs. Defensively he controlled the middle of the field with great reads and had a nice tackle for a loss.
Tucker has shown a high IQ for the game along with physical and mental toughness.
We can't wait to watch him grow as a Trojan Student Athlete!
