I invite you to watch this 4 minute informational video highlighting details of the capital bond proposal on the August 6 ballot.
This proposal projects no increase over the current debt millage rate of 3.1 mills. With a focus of Safe, Warm, and Dry, the bond proposal would include:
Safe
Secure entry vestibules at all TCAPS school buildings
Safety and security infrastructure upgrades
Bleacher replacements in six buildings
ADA upgrades to buildings, parking lots, playgrounds, and bleachers
Safety improvements at 13 locations including parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and curbs
Technology upgrades
Replacement of aged buses
Warm
Replacement of 26 boilers
Replacement of 260 heat pumps
Dry
Replacement of 800,000 square feet of aged roofing
Playground drainage upgrades at five buildings
Additional Projects
Renovation of Central Grade School
Facility improvements at all schools for instructional enhancements
Approximately 35,000 square feet of learning space enhancements for K-12 music and K-8 STEM programming
