Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to share that the academic calendar for the 2026-27 school year is finalized and available to view, along with building start and end times.
In keeping with tradition, TCAPS will begin after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The calendar includes a holiday break with no school from December 23, 2026, to January 3, 2027, with students returning to the classroom on Monday, January 4, 2027.
Districts must incorporate many state requirements into the calendar, and TCAPS appreciates the collaboration of all who were involved in this extensive process to finalize these dates for our families and staff.
As with previous years, the calendar includes potential school days June 15–21, 2027, for any make-up days required by law due to cancellation days. Pending that no additional days are needed, the school year will conclude with a half day for students on Friday, June 11, 2027.
