Students rotated through stations where they participated in thoughtful conversations with their peers using discussion prompts. By using contextual evidence and observations from the text, they worked together to complete graphic organizers and deepen their understanding. Great job, Titans!

West Middle School STEM students had the opportunity to participate in Manufacturing Day today, sponsored by MiSTEM of Northwestern Lower Michigan. This event gives students the unique opportunity to explore local manufacturing careers and learn how modern manufacturing impacts our community. Our Titans had the privilege of visiting TentCraft and Thompson Surgical. Our awesome 6th graders are diving into all things WMS! Today, students in Ms. Botkin and Ms. Schmidt’s classes explored the LMC with our Teacher Librarian, Ms. Baumann. They got a hands-on introduction to the space through an interactive scavenger hunt—learning the lay of the land while having fun!

Alongside our grade-level principals, these experts shared valuable information to help students make safe, proactive choices and to know how to respond or report if they ever become aware of a concern.

At the start of each year, we teach students to be safe, respectful, and responsible through Titan Talk lessons. Yesterday’s focus was hallway movement and restroom expectations.
Today, our morning announcements emphasized being safe with words and actions, and reminded students to report concerns by telling an adult, filling out a form in any wing office, or emailing their grade-level principal or counselor.
Our Titans have the power to make WMS the best it can be by choosing safe words and actions every day.

Students with last name M-Z are invited to drop-in on the 21st between 11AM-7PM. As a reminder, we expect our busiest times to be at 11AM and after 5PM.

We invite NEW to TCAPS or WMS students to meet with their grade level counselor at 10:30 AM on their day of Orientation (Aug 20 or 21) for a New Student Meeting. Interested families are asked to email their grade level counselor to request to attend the new student group session. Please note that these sessions are not intended for incoming 6th grade students who attended TCAPS and have participated in the school tour process in the spring.
