Come on out and support our Volleyball teams as they take on West tonight at West! The theme is Gold Rush; varsity starts at 6:30pm.

This Thursday is the volleyball pink-out game! T-shirts, raffles, food, and more will be available. Come support your Trojan volleyball players while making a difference in breast cancer awareness. The game starts at 6:30. Along with pink-out Thursday, Friday is the pink-out Football game starting at 7pm! Pink-out t-shirts for both volleyball and football will be sold during both lunches at the kiosk and before and after school by the gym doors.

The University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Albion College will be here TODAY to meet with interested students. The MSU visit will now be at 10:30am instead of the originally scheduled 10am. Sign up in the LMC to attend one of these college visits.

Interested in a possible career in healthcare? GVSU is hosting a Healthcare Professionals Panel at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) TONIGHT at 6:00pm. This event will feature a variety of local healthcare professionals who will share their career paths, experiences, and insights into the many opportunities within the healthcare field. Everyone is welcome to attend!

If you are interested in starting and being part of the National Art Honor Society, our first meeting will be on October 9th after school until 3:30pm in the ceramics room, F168.

If you are interested in a visual or performing arts endorsement on your diploma and would like to learn how to make this happen, please attend the Arts Academic Community meeting on October 9th at 7:40am in the Van Gogh room, C168. Email Ms. Sandy with any questions.

The Global Studies Academic Community is meeting on Monday, Oct. 13th, just after Early Release in Ms. Paul's room, C183, from 12:25-12:45pm. The meeting is for current and prospective members. We will hold Leadership Council elections, and Ms. Paul will hand out updated Progress Checks for returning members. Please email or see Ms. Paul in advance if you cannot attend.

There will be a short STEM Academic Community meeting this Thursday after school in the IMC for juniors and seniors.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting on Thursday morning at 7:20am in Mr. Schugars' classroom. All students are welcome.

Attention Seniors: Your counselor has scheduled a senior meeting to go over your graduation requirements to ensure you will graduate on time, and to help you with post-secondary plans. The TRAILS Mental Health Group is a space for students to learn and practice effective coping skills for managing stress, anxiety, and depression. Through evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, the group offers a safe and confidential environment for open discussion and skill development. By participating in TRAILS, students can build resilience, improve their mental well-being, and enhance their overall quality of life. Homecoming Spirit Week starts Monday with Ride the Tide - Tie Dye Day!

The Trojan Academic Award Ceremonies will take place on September 23rd and 24th in the Auditorium. Recipients are listed on the bulletin board by the cafeteria and will receive invitations by postal and electronic mail. Attendance is by invitation only. We look forward to celebrating all our award recipients!

Study Abroad with Rotary! Applications are now being accepted for students interested in studying abroad for the 2026-27 school year with Rotary Youth Exchange. Studying abroad is an excellent way to learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become a global citizen. Each year, Rotary sponsors students, aged 15-18, from our local area to live, study, and build peace around the world! Applications are due September 19th. Learn more at lunch on Friday or see Mr. Failor for a flyer. And then join us for a virtual information session at 7 pm on September 16th.

Congratulations to the Boys' Varsity Tennis Team for defeating Alpena 8-0. The doubles team had a perfect 48-0 score—they didn’t drop one game the entire match. Come support the team today against Grosse Point South, Mattawan, and Zeeland West.

Both the dance tickets and the t-shirts are $10 each. If you plan to bring a pre-approved guest to HOCO who is not a CHS student, you must have them registered by Wednesday, September 17th. Join us for a fun Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, September 19th, from 4:00 PM to 6:15 PM at Rotary Square. We'll have ice cream, spike ball, face painting, and cornhole! Attention Trojans! Want your voice heard? Join Burgers with Berger — a monthly student advisory lunch where you’ll meet with Mr. Berger and share your ideas to help shape our school. Applications are open now for grades 9–12. Stop by the office for details and a chance to be part of the conversation. Applications must be turned in by TOMORROW 9/12.

Student Senate is hosting a Blood Drive TOMORROW from 8:30-1:30 in the New Gym. Only students 16 years of age or older can donate blood; any 16-year-olds hoping to donate will need a parent-signed permission form. This form can be found in your morning announcement email or stop by Mr. Macneil’s class (C139) to pick one up. All donors will receive a pair of Buffalo Plaid Flannel PJ pants!
