Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce three staff named as Outstanding Persons in Education (OPIE) by the Michigan Education Association (MEA) 15-A Union Coordinating Council. TCAPS award winners include Jill Jenkins, Administrative Lead at Eastern Elementary School, Mike Livengood, History Teacher at West Middle School, and Jennifer Taylor, Bus Aide, TCAPS Transportation Department. 

Traverse City Central High School (CHS) hosted the Traverse City FIRST Robotics District Event March 16-18, 2023. West Senior High (WSH) Team #3767 won the District Championship and CHS Team #1711 held strong until their elimination in the semi-finals. Both teams will advance to the Michigan FRC State Championship at Saginaw Valley State University April 6-8, 2023.
