West Middle School National Junior Honor Society 

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for students nation-wide who demonstrated achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. West Middle School currently holds 80 members of the esteemed National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). These individuals exemplify the key qualities of a leader and continue to make a difference in their community at large and at WMS through their choice of service projects. This program is an independent opportunity to be involved in West Middle School in a meaningful way.    If interested, please contact our NJHS advisor, Counselor Paul Crowley at 933-8262; or crowleypa@tcaps.net   Membership Requirements:      * 3.5 GPA for over three marking periods during the previous academic year.    * Positive teacher recommendations.    * Completed application packet, including student goals (academic and community service)    * Officially join the National Junior Honor Society. Membership fees are $5, and should be dropped off at the 8th grade office. (funding is available for those in need).   To remain a member in good standing, a student must:    * Maintain a 3.5 GPA    * Continue to exhibit character, leadership, and scholarship    * Complete the service projects throughout the year    * Attend regular meetings throughout the year     2011-12 NJHS Meeting Schedule for West Middle School: Monthly meetings are to be held on the third friday of each month. These meetings will be held during resource in the 8th grade multi-purpose room.  The next meeting will be Friday, October 21st   Service Project Information Check back soon for information on suggested or available service projects.   Service Project Completion Form Click here for the form.
