VEX IQ: Intro to Competitive Robotics

LEAP Introduction to Competitive Robotics (VEX IQ) Workshop

For Grades 2-8

About the Program

TCAPS and LEAP are excited to offer an introductory workshop on competitive robotics using the VEX IQ platform. Students will learn best practices to be successful in VEX IQ competition while having fun with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skills. Students will also gain hands-on experience while working through the engineering process in a small class.

Following the workshops, there will be additional opportunities for students to lease equipment to take home for continued practice as well as community build nights  throughout the fall for students and teams to prepare for a qualifying VEX IQ event in be held in late January (more info to come).

This four-week workshop is geared toward elementary or middle school students who have never worked with the VEX IQ platform or those who have struggled in the past knowing where to begin. Students are required to bring a notebook (graph paper is best) and pen.
