Introducing Reading Specialist, Cynthia Harrington:

My name is Cynthia Harrington and I'm the Reading Specialist here at Long Lake Elementary School.    I'm new here at Long Lake but I've been teaching for 13 years.  My career started in Huron Valley Schools in Milford where I taught 9 years as a classroom teacher in a grade range of Kindergarten to Third.   I relocated to Northern Michigan four years ago and started out my first year teaching first grade at Birch Street Elementary and followed it with three years of Reading Specialty in TCAPS.  I completed a Master's Degree at Eastern University as well as a Master's Degree from the University of Illinois in the Teaching and Learning program.  

I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Long Lake community.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with these beautiful children,  as well as this dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring staff.
