Introducing Sandy Griffin:
Hi! My name is Sandy Griffin and I am the full-time Administrative Assistant at Long Lake Elementary. This is my 4th year at Long Lake. I have previously worked at Norris Elementary and the Maintenance Department for TCAPS.
I was born and raised in Benzie County. I attended two years at NMC prior to moving to Lake Orion, Michigan for five years. My husband and I moved back to Traverse City in 1993. We have four children ranging in age from 11 to 21. My son is currently working in Traverse City, my oldest daughter is a sophomore at GVSU, and my two youngest daughters attend TC West Middle School.
My daughters keep me quite busy, as they are very involved in choir, band and soccer. In my spare time I enjoy being a soccer mom, watching the Detroit Red Wings with my family, going for walks with my puppy, Oliver, and gardening.
I truly enjoy working at Long Lake. I encourage you to call and/or visit the office anytime with questions, concerns, or just to say hello.

Introducing Dawn Blamer-Aspenleiter:
Hello Long Lake families, my name is Dawn Blamer-Aspenleiter. I hold a few different positions at Long Lake Elementary. Part-time Administrative Assistant, Noon Duty and Classroom Overload Assistant. Having this many positions has given me the unique opportunity to meet and spend time with each and every student.
I have lived in Traverse City for almost 30 years now! I began my career at Passageways Travel for 10 years, then became the Executive Assistant to Mr. & Mrs. Hockey, Colleen and Gordie Howe for about 8 years. After volunteering at Long Lake for many years, first with my oldest daughter who recently graduated from Traverse City West High School, then my youngest daughter who is in 5th grade, I decided to look for a position(s) with the Long Lake family.
In 2008, I had the privilege of being a liver donor to my Aunt who is a very healthy great grandma today!!
My husband and I have been married for 23 years and are avid sports fans. We both enjoy golf. I have either played or coached softball for the past 30 years. I also love to read and spend those long hot summer afternoons at our beautiful area beaches!
