Title I

Title I grants are available from the U. S. Department of Education to schools where a high percentage of the student population receives free/reduced meals. Title I grants support students who are at risk of not meeting grade level benchmarks. These students receive extra support so they are able to achieve academic success. Funds can support Literacy/Math Coaches, fund additional certified teachers to work with identified students, increase social work support, provide additional nursing, allow time for teacher collaboration, offer before or after school tutoring, and present parental involvement activities. Each building determines how their dollars will be spent based on a Needs Assessment to establish School Improvement Goals.
