Extended Care
The before school session with Mrs. Purdy begins at 7am with craft and free time. Many games are played such as bingo, uno, man-calla, and mastermind. Other activities such as puzzels, legos, coloring are available and appropriate for different age levels. 8:00-8:25 is gym time and another opportunity for free choice. At 8:30 it is time to go back to the cafeteria and have breakfast. Children can purchase breakfast for $1.25 or bring their own. Around 8:55 the children get ready to head to class for the day.
The after school session with Chrissy Albin begins with a snack provided by the kitchen. Free choice follows. If weather permits, the group heads out to the playground or uses the gym about 5:00. Children must be picked up by 6:00. The cost of each session is a flat rate of $6.00 per child. If you have any questions about our extended care program, please contact Lynette Purdy or Chrissy Albin at 933-5919 email: purdyly@tcaps.net or albinch@tcaps.net
Lower Your Taxes Or Increase Your Refund
Did you know you may be eligible for tax benefits to help pay for your child's preschool education and extended day care by reducing the income taxes you pay or increasing your tax refund?
A tax credit is even more valuable to families than a tax deduction. A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in taxes owed. Some credits are refundable – taxes can be reduced to the point that a taxpayer receives a refund instead of paying taxes.
Under current federal law eligible families can claim tax credits* up to:
- $2,100 from the federal Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit
(up to $1,050 for each of your first two children; the exact amount depends on your income and actual child care expenses);
- $1,000 per child from the federal Child Tax Credit; and
- $4,716 from the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.
Many states provide tax credits in addition to the federal tax credits.
