At-Risk
At-Risk funds are available from the Michigan Department of Education to support students who meet specific criteria. These criteria include: below grade-level performance in the core academic areas, students with 504 plans or TASC accommodation plans, atypical behaviors, and/or atypical attendance. At-Risk funds can support building Literacy/Math Coaches, fund additional certified teachers to provide support for identified students, increase social work support, provide additional nursing, offer before or after school tutoring, and provide funding for instructional materials. Each building determines how their dollars will be spent based on a Needs Assessment to establish School Improvement Goals.
