Traverse City Central High School:
- Grades 9 & 10 and New Student Registration
August 20th, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Grades 11 & 12 Registration
August 21st, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Orientation for 9th & 10th Grade students will
occur on the first day of school, Sept. 2, 2008.
- The 2009 "Pines" Yearbook will be on sale during registration for a special price of $55.00. After September the price will be $60.00 so plan to order now!
Traverse City High School:
- Registration for All Students

- Parent Orientation Meeting

- Mentor Training "Kick Off" Meeting

- Ninth Grade Students Meet With Mentors at Kick Off Orientation
August 27th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Freshman registration will be immediately following orientation. All freshmen are expected to attend and should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- During the Kick-Off Orientation Day, freshmen will meet the mentors that they will be working with all year and participate in activities that encourage early connection to other students. Time will be available for all questions to be answered. Students will officially register after the orientation activities. Parents will attend informational sessions led by administrators. The goal is for everyone to leave feeling comfortable and ready to start the 2008-2009 school year.

Traverse City West Senior High School Traffic Flow During
Construction - August 4-22, 2008
Traverse City West Senior High School will undergo road construction on the northeast side of the building
August 4 – 22, 2008. During this time the east parking lots and driveway will not be accessible to the public.
Traffic flow will be restricted to one way with the following entrance and exit points. Entry to the school is
limited to the N. Long Lake Road entrance. All vehicles must exit via Gallagher Road to Cedar Run Road.
The Long Lake Road exit will be closed during construction. Click here to view traffic flow map.

Freshman / Sophomore Mentoring Program
Peer mentoring programs for freshman and sophomore students entering Central High School and West Senior High School is designed to ease the transition for incoming students during their first year in high school by helping students feel safe and comfortable in their new environment and to ensure successful academic achievement. The mentoring program offers new students the opportunity to build relationships with older students who can share their experiences and advice on settling in to a new learning environment.
Student mentors receive training prior to meeting with their mentees. Students begin meeting with their mentors at the start of the school year. For more information about the Peer Mentoring Program at your school, please contact:
