The Grand Start will provide region-wide access to preschool and other programs to prepare all young children for school and all schools for young children.
Research clearly shows that children who participate in high quality, model preschool programs are significantly more ready for school than those without appropriate early childhood experiences. To address school readiness issues, we will work with our entire community to find the resources to provide quality early childhood experiences for 100% of our preschool children. We will partner with community early childhood organizations to act as a hub of activity for young children, we will further develop informal support networks, and provide our families with 'family navigators' to ensure that our parents are able to address health, social emotional, and school readiness issues through the use of service coordination and targeted interventions.
