Teacher Requests

Teaching is an art. Lifelong learning is encouraged with words of support through purposeful learning experiences every single day. Each spring tentative classroom lists are developed for the following fall. The compilation of class lists is complex and many variables are considered including:

*Class size

*Varying learning styles

*Female/Male ratio

*Student behavior

*Balance of special needs students

*Balance of students at all ability levels

The 2014-2015 tentative teaching assignments are as follows:

K -   Mrs. Tammy McManus
K -   Mrs. Stephany Peplinski
K -   Mrs. Sue Vance
1st - Ms. Denise Richard
1st - Mrs. Kim Tumey
1st/2nd - Mrs. Kim Chase
2nd - Mrs. Michelle Brzezinski
2nd - Mrs. Barb Hoffman
3rd - Ms. Jana  DuGuay
3rd - Mrs. Sue Thomas

3rd - Ms. Tricia Weston
4th - Ms. Candiss Brewer
4th - Mrs. Mary Jane Collins
4th - Mrs. Erin Jongekrijg
5th - Mrs. Andrea Hagelstein

5th - Mrs. Claire Stephenson

If you wish to request a particular teacher, please submit your request in writing/email to me by Friday, May 9, 2014. Class configurations are complex but I will honor 25% of the requests. I literally put all names in a hat and draw from there. This method truly preserves the integrity of classroom balance yet offers a fair opportunity for parents to make a request. This plan also helps ensure my goal of the greatest success for ALL Willow Hill students.

Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. Class lists will be posted in the fall prior to the start of the school year.

Camp Invention

Camp Invention inspires creativity and inventive thinking during its weeklong summer program (June 23rd-27th at Willow Hill and Cherry Knoll Schools)!  Led by local educators, K-6th grade children are immersed in fun-filled, exciting, activities that reinvent summer fun. Throughout the week, children work together to solve real-world challenges that prepare them for the 21st century. Whether they are creating an epic, insect-themed pinball machine or dismantling broken devices, participants learn new approaches to everyday problems! Discounts available – register today!
