| The elementary library media centers are the heart of education at TCAPS. With a minimum of a thirty-minute library class each week, our students have opportunities to access wonderful resources. Our collection supports the curriculum and fulfils learning needs along with individual reading enjoyment. Special reading promotions throughout the year encourage students to develop a love of reading and a desire to "find out more" at the library. The library is a place where the students go once a week to listen to a story, and then they have the opportunity to check out books. When kids need some information for their schoolwork, they are allowed to go to the library to research. There is a sign-in sheet that the students need to sign when they come in at times other than their regular library time. Students can access "Destiny" which is an online research Web site to help them find a book by name or author. Mrs. Candy Davis, the librarian, is always glad to help the students find what they need. The library is an awesome place! Donating Books We gladly accept your donation of new or gently used books to the library at any time during the school day. Thank you for generously sharing. Fun Facts The library has 13,957 items available for checkout. The Library has circulated over 13,000 items since the start of the school year. The library earned over $6,900.00 in books from the book fair last fall. There were over 1,800 items checked out over the holiday break. The library has over 900 patrons. Mrs. Davis has worked at our library for just over 20 years. |
