September 4th First day of school for students
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is pleased to announce that installation on the Traverse City Central High School (CHS) student-led solar project is complete.
Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is excited to celebrate the completion of Eastern Elementary School with a grand opening celebration, ribbon-cutting ceremony and school tours on Monday, August 27, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (1600 Eastern Ave.).
All TCAPS families are encouraged to apply for free or reduced meals.
On August 7, 2018, voters in Grand Traverse, Benzie and Leelanau counties voted to approve a 10 year, $107 million dollar capital bond proposal for Traverse City Area Public Schools.

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) has been made aware of the test results for its drinking water well at Blair Elementary School, which show PFAS levels as “non-detect,” or that no traceable level of the contaminant was found during testing.

Traverse City Central High School alumnus, Brian Katona, recently won an Emmy Award for Best Musical Composition for his score to the short documentary film, “The Builder.”
TCAPS is announcing the opportunity to apply for an interim seat on the Board of Education. Interested candidates should submit a written letter of interest, including a short statement regarding the qualities and experience the candidate brings to the position, by July 5, 2018.
TCAPS' West Senior High School has been accepted as a participating community in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) Mission 13 to the International Space Station (ISS).
