Staff CPR/AED/First Aid Training Information

CPR/AED & First Aid Training Opportunities

Why should I know CPR/AED?

Many businesses and schools provide CPR/AED training so employees are prepared to administer appropriate action in the event of a workplace emergency. According to a new study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, individuals working long hours are 67% more likely to suffer from a heart attack during their lifetime. You just might save a life if you choose to complete CPR/AED training!

What will I learn in the training?

This course will provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective CPR life support in the event of an emergency and includes an AED training component. Participants who complete this course will be certified by the American Heart Association (AHA). Certificates will be distributed to participants by Human Resources once they are received from the AHA.

eCard Option

Participants will have the option to choose between receiving a printed course completion card or an eCard. Printed course completion cards may take up to one month to receive. eCards are sent to your email and can be printed. By 2017, only eCards will be issued to participants.

How much does it cost?

There is a $30 fee to complete the training payable at the time of registration with a credit card or a TCAPS account code (must be approved by building principal). In the event a class is canceled or the participant cannot attend their registered class, the participant will be rescheduled to another date.

Who can participate?

The TCAPS CPR/AED training sessions are open to all TCAPS employees, spouses and their children (ages 18 or older), as well as TCAPS retirees, PCMI employees working at TCAPS, and TCAPS volunteers. The training sessions are also open to all TCAPS students (ages 16 and older).

How long does it take?
