Advanced Placement
Advance Placement (AP) classes are available at Central High School and West Senior High School. Part of the nationally recognized College Board program, AP classes give students the opportunity to take college level courses while still in high school.
Advanced Placement classes, usually taken during the senior year, are available in: Art, Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, English Language & Composition, English Language & Literature, European History, Psychology, Statistics, U.S. Government & U.S. History.
Universities usually grant credit hours to students who score between 3 & 5 on an AP test, with 5 being the highest score. National AP tests are administered locally each May.
