Literacy Initiatives

TCAPS strives for 100% literacy proficiency among its students.  Literacy initiatives provide a major emphasis on developing reading and writing skills.

The Secondary Reading Intitiative helps improve students’ ability to read increasingly complex text within core content subjects.  Teacher training teams at each secondary school serve as leaders in delivering staff development on content specific reading strategies.
