West Senior High School has a Career Center with a coordinator. Students may access information about colleges, scholarships, careers, and test preparation. Central High School no longer has a separate Career Center with a coordinator. Instead (1) College/career guides have been incorporated into the Lirbary Media Center collection. (2) Scholarship information is displayed in the Student Services reception area, included in the daily the announcements, and made available on the "counseling" area of the Central High School's Web site. (3) Students may apply to college online (most do) or are welcome to download an application in the Library Media Center. (4) Students are encouraged to search for colleges and careers via Career Cruising, which they may access from home or school. (5) ACT/SAT test preparation material is also available in the Student Services reception area.
It is the goal of the Traverse City Area Public Schools' Counseling Department to help all students achieve success in school and develop into contributing members of our society.
