School Readiness Outreach Program
The School Readiness Outreach Program is a school-based program for qualifying at-risk families with children between birth and five years of age in Grand Traverse County. Recognizing that school readiness begins at birth, the School Readiness Outreach Program offers a variety of resources to families cost free, including home visits, social groups, parenting information, early childhood experiences, preschool information, and developmental screenings.
In their first few years, children learn more and at a faster pace than at any other time in life. The School Readiness Outreach Program offers information and skills for making the most of these crucial early learning years by providing timely information on child development and brain research, parent-child activities that encourage language development, intellectual growth, social development, and motor skills, and a direct connection between home and a child's educational future.
