Elementary Summer Reading
It is well known that continuing to read during the summer months is vitally important.
“Imagine an athlete who takes several months off from training. It will take weeks, if not months, of training to return to peak performance. The same is true with readers and their reading.”1
“A summer loss of 3 months accumulates over the elementary grade summers to become a gap of 18 months by the end of 6th grade.”2
