About the Teacher

 Mr. Habich is originally from Onekama, Michigan where he lived throughout his grade school and high school years. Mr. Habich graduated from Western Michigan University with a B.S. in 1996, majoring in elementary education, and minoring in math, science, and physical education. He moved to the Traverse City area in 1997. Shortly thereafter he followed a lifelong dream to live in "bush" Alaska where he taught in the tiny remote village of Kobuk. After returning to T.C. the following year, he became a sixth grade teacher at Central Grade School. The next year he joined the Montessori program in teaching lower-elementary where he remained for three years. This is Mr. Habich's third year in upper-elementary.
