My name is Jen Hisem and my interest in Montessori became my passion as I had
the opportunity to be a long-term guest teacher for Mrs. Tracy Rucker in the
Primary Montessori in 2003. I absolutely fell in love with this program and
could not be happier to be one of the directresses for the lower elementary.
This school year will be my fourth year in our Montessori Program and I
could not imagine being anywhere but right here at TCAPS Montessori.
On a person note, I received my Bachelors in Language Arts from Grand Valley
State University in 2002 and will be finishing up with my Masters in the
summer, 2008! I have a wonderful family, which includes my two beautiful
daughters, Makada, age 6, and Mia, age 3, my husband, Marty, and our puppy
Sadie. I love the outdoors and enjoy running, kayaking, skiing, playing
basketball and softball.
I am very pleased to announce that Laurie Tuck is returning to be the
classroom assistant. Mrs. Tuck has much knowledge and practice in Montessori
as she came from the Primary level and has assisted for four years. She is
a mother of three teenagers and has a loving husband. We are very eager to
start this year together. We have many exciting activities planned and bring
with us a bright, fresh, loving attitude. Together, Mrs. Tuck and I make an
incredible team!
I strongly believe we must develop a partnership for a successful year, so
please contact me at anytime. I look forward to working with you and your
child.
Mission For The Class
My mission is to be every child's favorite teacher.
To do this I must make a difference in every child's life.
Every day, I will do my best to have all the children reach their potential.
I will set high expectations and most importantly hold them accountable to
reach them.
I will raise the children's self esteem and always treating them with respect
and dignity.
I hope to be remembered as their favorite teacher.
