About The Teacher

       I am a native of northeastern Michigan and my husband Keith and I moved 
to Traverse City in 2002.  We love the natural beauty and opportunities of 
the region, and enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, working on our 100+ year 
old home, and keeping busy with our Weimaraner, Mission.  Most of all we 
love being parents.  Our son, Jesse, was born February 2006 and we are 
excited to raise him in such a wonderful community.   

     I have a B.A. in Outdoor & Environmental Education, with a Biology 
minor, from CMU, and a B.S./Integrated Teaching Major in General Science and 
Elementary Education from MSU. I’m also currently working towards my Masters 
in Curriculum and Teaching from MSU as well.
     
     I joined the TCAPS Montessori program in 2003 as the Toddler Montessori 
Program Coordinator/Director.  For the past three years, I have loved 
learning with and guiding Lower Elementary students.  I've trained in 
Detroit and Rochester Hills for Montessori education and my American 
Montessori Society Elementary I Certificate.

     As a teacher, guide, and lifelong learner, I believe in the dignity and 
potential of each individual and the power of that belief to help us grow.

environment that encourages children to live in harmony with others while
