New Benches by Pond

Another addition in our outdoor project!

 Outdoor Project

A Family Foundation and Nature Conservancy Grant work with Old Mission PTO and TCAPS to improve our outdoor areas.

Around 1997 one of the parents of Old Mission was determined to utilize the natural resources of our grounds. This parent, having a high degree in water studies and environmental studies, was able to develop ideas and lessons that focused on getting children outside and learning about ecosystems, pond studies and nature in general. In 2008 this area, known as “The Pond,” was developed further, allowing for even more learning opportunities. In addition to this wonderful area, Old Mission also has an outdoor classroom tucked into the shade of the woods where children and teachers can let nature inspire them

2007

Restore pond and trails in the woods and pond area of our school. The amphitheatre and new trail systems expand existing trails.

2008

New playground structures and swings installed.

2009

New track, more swings and sandbox added.

2010

New playhouse and large climbing piece.

2011
