Traverse City Area Public Schools would like to congratulate Traverse City West Senior High School Math Teacher Diana Lyon-Schumacher for receiving the 2009 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement for teachers. This award recognizes Diana’s dedication and exemplary teaching to her students and to the Advanced Placement Program. There are only fifty teachers selected for this award nationwide.
“There is no teacher at TC West Senior High School more deserving of this recognition.” said Joe Tibaldi, TC West Senior High School Principal. “Diana is an excellent teacher, leader, and role model for students. No one works harder or cares more than Diana.”
Established in 1998, the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement exemplify the strong partnership between Siemens Foundation and the College Board to expand and strengthen the pool of math, science, and technology talent that is needed for the continued growth of business and industry in the United States and globally.
