Traverse City East Middle School teacher Jane Porath was recently selected to join the editorial panel for Mathematics Teaching in Middle School, a National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) publication. Jane is one of six members on the editorial panel. The acceptance is a three-year commitment and will include reviewing manuscripts, deciding on publications, and help shape the direction of the journal and themes that should be emphasized. Jane will meet twice a year with the other members in Washington D.C.
Jane Porath earned a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University with majors in Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry. She also has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University. Jane is currently an 8th grade mathematics teacher at TC East Middle School.
