Eastern Elementary School third grade students chose to participate in Operation Christmas Child this year rather than exchanging gifts at holiday parties. On November 14th, the students packed 37 shoeboxes with toys, candy, toiletries, and school supplies for boys and girls ages 5 – 9 years old. The filled shoeboxes will be sent around the world through the Operation Christmas Child Program to children that are in need.
“Children feel special giving and receiving these gifts,” commented Eastern Elementary School student Abigail. “Operation Christmas Child grants a child’s wish for a gift and we feel happy to be involved.”
